About Me
Hi Friends, I'm Domenico Di Modica—the voice behind Canadian Structures & Stories. As a structural engineer and photographer from Montreal, I've come to appreciate how history, cities, and culture shape how and why we build things, especially here in Canada.
In this blog, I explore Canada’s different types of ''buildings'' and ''landmarks''—their history, design, and the stories behind them. Occasionally, in a column titled "Insights," I draw from my experience as a practicing engineer to discuss current issues impacting Canada's infrastructure and real estate landscapes, highlighting topics everyone should know.
While many of my articles are currently focused in Montreal, over time, I plan to explore other cities and regions across Canada, uncovering the unique structures, history, and stories they hold.
I started this blog to share my love for exploring Canada’s unique structures and the stories behind them, and I can’t wait to take you along on this journey!
